Morning Show Discussion: Source**Namibian Sun "Truck" Taxis The Metal and Allied Namibian Workers Union (MANWU) is concerned about construction workers being transported on the load-beds of trucks or bakkies. The MVA fund together with the MANWU are condeming the practice calling it unsafe. According to MANWU general secretary Justina Jonas says this is a dangerous practice and the workers are saying they are exposed to cold in Winter and rain during the rainy season. MVA spokesperson Catherine Shipushu said if someone is injured in a road while not wearing a seat belt, the compensation is reduced by 25%. If someone is injured while being conveyed in a goods vehicle or bakkie, the benefit is reduced by 50%. What can be done to help the workers since they are receiving transportation for free, should they now start paying for proper transportation and can they afford it ? Your thoughts......
