Morning Thought: The Lord woke me up with this thought on my - TopicsExpress

Morning Thought: The Lord woke me up with this thought on my mind, He woke me up with me remembering the phrase ignorance is bliss that I use to hear as a kid. Then I listened as this thought entered my heart: There are many Christians that are just plain ignorant when it comes to the Word of God and their ignorance translates into a blatant disrespect for God’s word. This ignorance comes from the fact that many Christians pick up the Bible and read just to say that they have read something. After reading they never even try to gain the understanding of what it is that they have just read. Christians like this are those that are comfortable just living of the surface of everything. The read without understanding, they listen but they never hear, and they watch but they never see. The interesting thing is that they never even realize that they will be held accountable for everything that they have read, heard, and seen over the course of their lives even if they did not take the time to stop and seek God to gain the full understanding of it. Catch this: Blindly reading scriptures without understanding, sitting in church for years and listening without hearing, and watching the movement of the Holy Spirit without understand will not bring satisfaction or resolution to any of your problems. Resolution to your problems will only come when you become a person, who takes the time to seek the Lord while He may be found, and call upon Him while He is near (Isaiah 55:6 edited) Remember these two things: First, that the bible teaches us that wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7) Wisdom and understanding go hand and hand so to say you are wise and yet you lack simple understand is a lie. This is because wisdom without understanding is the equivalent of a human without air. Second, the bible teaches us that My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. (Hosea 4:6) Right here, the book of Hosea teaches us that to reject knowledge means that God will reject you from His house and because you have forgotten His law, He will also forget your children. Selah (Pause and think on that) Now where is the bliss in being ignorant? Now, I know some of you will say that with Jesus the we no longer have the law but Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. With that being said, this, this verse teaches us that we still have a responsibility to keep the laws of the Old Testament; we just have grace to forgive us when we go against those laws. So, do you really want to chance being rejected from Gods House over ignorance? Quote of the day: “Knowledge is Power, Power provides Information; Information leads to Education, Education breeds Wisdom; Wisdom is Liberation. People are not liberated because of lack of knowledge.” And Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. ― Israelmore Ayivor & Apostle Paul
