Morning all, Next year will be the 10th anniversary of the founding of Berakah and were celebrating by writing new music and organising a national tour. Were looking to arrange 7 dates around the UK, working with local organisations who also bring people together in a spirit of harmony some way. The last few years have seen us change and grow and were now more than just a music ensemble, were a music charity that has founded a multi faith choir, we have a multi faith youth music ensemble in the planning stages and weve been writing new music to premier on our tour. During our previous tours weve played in churchs, synagogues, concert venues, community centres, schools and even a Muslim Womens Centre (which was great!) so all we need is a venue in your area and the will to work with us in getting the message across to people in your area and were off. Berakah have always been proactive in ensuring that we work with local faith groups, community groups, local authorities and local arts organisations - we see this grassroots work as vital to the building of the bridges that weve set out to build. If you are involved with, or are connected to, such a group in your area please get in touch with me via my FB inbox. Music has the power to spread a powerful, positive message and we want to work more closely with people who have a similar wish to spread a positive message in the face of difficult social and political climates. In case you need a reminder about who we are and what we do please look at our web site theberakahproject.org Its going through a re-jig soon so Ill send you a link as soon as the new site is up. Also, were very active on Twitter and Facebook so please join our group or add us on Twitter. Well be applying to the Arts Council to fund a national tour of about 6-7 dates in total, to occur hopefully around Summer-early Autumn of 2015. In the first instance wed like to discuss with you these things: 1 - Would you like to work with us on organising a concert? 2 - Is there any opportunity to work with young people in your area with a view to incorporating them into the concert? Working with youth is now a core feature of our work and well be developing this work more and more. 3 - Would you have access to a venue and be able to take care of local marketing? Of course Berakah would use our social networking channels and our own website to promote converts but we always ask local partners to do local marketing. Im really looking forward to hearing from you and were very excited to be back out on the road - making a difference is what its about and with your co-operation we can really achieve great things. Please feel free to share this email across your networks or to pass it onto any people you think may be interested. Love to all, Mo x
