Morning all. Some scattered thunderstorms have pushed northward - TopicsExpress

Morning all. Some scattered thunderstorms have pushed northward through parts of South West England and Wales overnight. These are now heading out into the Irish Sea towards the Isle of Man, eastern parts of Northern Ireland and Western Scotland, but they should be less intense here with the risk of thunder being lower. We have further heavy, thundery showers/thunderstorms pushing up from the Channel that will affect parts of South West England and push into parts of South Wales (Currently one line of thundery showers heading toward Exeter and another toward the Plymouth area). This afternoon heavy, thundery showers are expected to develop across Wales (mainly North Wales), the North Midlands and North West and Central Northern England, pushing into South West, Central and Central West Scotland. Elsewhere, Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Western Scotland and the Western Isles will see spells of rain throughout the day. Some drier and brighter spells may develop at times, but further spells of rain are likely, some of which may be heavy. Central and eastern parts of England (excluding the North Midlands) and central and eastern parts of Scotland will have a largely dry day with lengthy sunny spells. A few isolated showers may break out but most places will stay dry. The highest risk of catching any showers will be across western parts of Yorkshire. Another mild or even warm day for many with temperatures widely reaching the high teens, and the low to mid twenties across inland central and eastern areas of England, where a few places may hit 25 or even 26 degrees. It will be cooler across Ireland and Northern Ireland with temperatures reaching the low to mid teens.
