Morning everyone. For those of you who sailed with me on the Miracle in Alaska this year you will no doubt remember what I am going to mention. You see, before each show or event I would host in the main lounge ( bugger me if I can remember the name of the lounge ) I would come through the side door rather than walk out with a big introduction etc. This also gave me the chance to talk to people and start the show with a bit of banter with the guests on the microphone. It wasn’t too long ago when pre show guests would wait for the fun to start by reading a book but not now………….nope those days have gone. You see the number one pre show activity on the Miracle……………..was playing candy crush. Each cruise I would ask the guests before the show started who was playing Candy Crush and I kid you not when I say there were dozens who admitted to their addiction. Now let me say that I am overweight, I smoke cigars and I have an arse that can produce sounds that would rip through the thickest fog but I am proud to say that I have never, not even once played candy sodding crush. I wonder how many of you reading this or indeed how many of the Carnival beards have used their eye android berry pads to play Candy Crush at a meeting? Meetings. I understand that meetings are sometimes an excuse to avoid real do something work, and just talk about it instead. But how many of you can admit to moving bits of candy around the screen instead of listening to the boring monotonous monotone voice of Lisa from Accounts and her budget for the third quarter? And now we are testing out our brilliant new App on the Carnival Breeze there will be even more pre show action on the guests eye android berry pads before and possibly during the shows. The streets where you live and the mall where you shop are now populated by zombies who shuffle along staring at their handsets. Being on a ship, for the most part, was one of the places left where you were unreachable, where just for a while you could relax, knowing you were completely disconnected from the world. But that is not what many people want anymore it seems. More news on App world soon. Oh by the way, some exciting news. There is a new game out invented by someone called Pine Bluff from the Cruise Critic boards and it has become popular with his mates Orison, Pete, Lucinda, Baymax and the gang. It’s called Bollock Crush“ and involves cartoon drawings of my dangly bits and a nutcracker. You chase my gentleman’s sausage around Lido Deck and every time you manage to crack them the word “brilliant” flashes onto the screen. So, come on, admit it……………are you a Candy Crusher?
