Morning soccer with end-of-the-season pomp, etc. At the pool, taught the kids a proper front crawl and launched them off my knee into space 100 times (+/-) Whole gaggle traversed the dog park (or pup park, says Savaughn) where we romped with buddies both two- and four-legged Homemade bruschetta and cucumbers for dinner with fresh herbs and veggies from our garden Swung easily in the hammock with my pint sized companions as a neighbors ticklish ivories delicately decorated the lofty ambiance Two of the three smallish folk concocted a yard game and carried it out with gentle exuberance The aromatic evening breeze made all the sweeter with newly muddled (garden fresh) mint in moms special soda This was our day. Typical for some, I imagine. For us, this merry band of mischief makers, we agreed that it was the best day together since, well... in a very long time. And we did it together, just the four of us. How is healing captured in a few short lines? How does one communicate the transformation from surviving to thriving? Perhaps this is one way. Peace, good people.
