#MorningDevotion Trusting God One of the things on my bucket list is to go bungee jumping or to jump from a moving plane….with a parachute of course. The thrill of the free fall experience with the wind in your face is just amazing. Then there is the pull of the bungee cord when you are just about to hit the ground or the pull of the parachute when you pull the chord to let it loose. A good number of us would not be willing to jump from a bridge putting all your faith and trust in a bungee cord to hold us up not allowing us to hit the ground at high speed. The thought many of us would struggle with is what if it snaps? Psalm 118:6-9 The Lord is on my side I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; therefore I see my desire on those who hate me It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. Unlike the bungee cord which may be faulty, or the parachute which may fail, God is a dependable guaranteed help in times of trouble. God is the all mighty and with him on your side you have nothing to fear. Many times we put our hope and trust in people because of the positions they hold or the resources that have at their disposal, but man will forget, man will disappoint, man will fail you time and time again. Many times we panic because we tend to trust what we can see. God will at times allow us to go through the fire to refine us but because we cannot see the path ahead, we think that he has abandoned us. Without faith it is impossible to please God. You and I need to get to that place where we fully believe that God is on our side and He has our best in mind. Just like with Daniel and the three Hebrew boys He may allow us to be thrown into the fire or to be dropped into the lion’s den then He comes through for us protecting us from any harm. At other times He may appear instantly to save us. That decision is His but we have the guarantee that God is for us. Do not allow fear to rule your life, instead allow faith to arise and boldly declare that God is on your side. Whatever you have before you today, no matter how bad the situation seems or how long you have been pressing in, just know you are not facing it alone. Put your hope and trust in God, He will never let you down. Declaration: God is my strength my song and my salvation rejoicing and salvation live in my house gates of righteousness are open for me God is on my side. Ps 118
