Mortality rates have reduced due to patients transferred to CIC - TopicsExpress

Mortality rates have reduced due to patients transferred to CIC for care that WCH could not give! Trauma unit and staff available at CIC, why not WCH, Newcastle RVI & FREEMANS 1 hour away from CIC that provide same service. Cardiac unit, PPCI and staff available at CIC, as stated above + James Cook Hospital also available to CIC patients, that provide same service. Therefore why can our hospital not be given the staff and specialist equipment to service our vast area in the way our patients deserve? If its ok for West cumbria to travel 1 hour +, bearing in mind that is without other time factors, why is it not ok in the reverse?
