Mortgage Tip! It’s April and that means self-assessment time! Tax returns aren’t due until 31st January 2015 but the fact is if you want a mortgage you need to pay tax! Speak to your accountant and mortgage adviser about any plans you may have in this regard; it’s no good needing to show a taxable income after you’ve submitted your tax returns. Once your tax returns have been completed remember to call HMRC and request your 2014 SA302. Request 2013 too if you don’t have it already as lenders will require at least two years and they also require the ones produced directly by HMRC and not the ones produced by your accountant or online. Call 0300 200 3300 to request them as they arent sent out automatically.
