Mosquitos.. Nasty, annoying little bugs...but ones that are playing a part in the spreading of Dengue and Chikungunya viruses . And possibly much more in the near future. E A little more than a year ago the military, for the first time in history, decided to help with the control of Mosquitos in the Florida Keys and Everglades . Besides the spraying of unknown chemicals which were not labeled nor on any manifests as to the contents as per hazmat regulations, they released genetically modified Mosquitos , a new breed introduced into the area designed to breed with the others and produce barren ( non reproducing ) Mosquitos . This breed, the Asian Tiger , is larger and more aggressive than most Mosquitos. Fast forward to today and these Mosquitos that are responsible for spreading the Dengue and chickungunya viruses( which cannot live outside the human body) and is transmitted by the bite of only 2 types of Mosquitos. One of these is the species Adedes Albopictus ... This species is also called the Asian tiger mosquito. If that isnt coincidence enough, consider this: the dengue/chickungunya viruses are larger than the Ebola and Aids viruses .. Now, does that make your hair stand up on the back of your neck? It should as these mosquitoes are all along the eastern part of the United States now... nature/scitable/topicpage/dengue-transmission-22399758 (And the following link) keysmosquito.org/modified-mosquito-release/
