Most Assamese people have no idea what is the land deal with Bangladesh. UPA Government started the process and very prudently Modi Government is following it. The border with Bangladesh is not clearly defined in the WB Assam belt. There are various enclaves of Indian land surrounded by Bangladesh and patches of Bangladeshi enclaves surrounded by Indian territory. Now, this haphazard territorial distribution occurred due to a series of chess games between Nawab of Rangpur and Raja of KochBehar. They put at stake enclaves of land and whoever won kept it with him. For decades, this system continued and still continues, thereby denying both the nations a clear boundary in that belt. Add to it the human problems. It is very good to love Assam and country but the love should not be misguided. The land swap deal is a way forward. Accept it and move forward. Its another matter that local BJP leaders of Assam are clueless about the whole affair from the beginning. In this matter, I support Narendra Modi
