Most enjoyable dinner-dance gig last night at The Granary, Shenstone for a great crowd including many of our ex-Halesowen Grammar School friends. Our four-piece of Roy Parry-bass/vocals, Rod Kelly-piano/vocals, ken Wright-drums/vocals and me had a fun time. Dinner Dances used to all waltzes, quick steps, fox trots, Latin American plus a bit of rock ‘n’ roll during the early 1960s when I was playing with people like Ken Rattenbury, Sonny Rose, Norman Nankervis, Brian Pearsall and other similar bands. These days it’s the rock ‘n’ roll numbers that fill the floor…..fine with us…go with the flow. A nice night with lovely folks. Good Rockin’ Tonight 8.30pm at Stourbridge Lawn Tennis and Squash Club.
