Most of my customers who use foodstamps do have jobs. Lot of my coworkers who have kids actually qualify for them - even the ones lucky enough to be scheduled for 30 or more hours a week. Raising the minimum wage will help some. But for the most part companies will just hire fewer people, cut their weekly scheduled work hours, and make up the difference in overhead by asking fewer people to do more work. Since jobs are scarce, employees will put up with tons of such shenanigans because they know theyll get similar treatment anywhere else.
