Most of the information that is directing and governing our lives has come from external sources. Its what we carry around in our heads (values, views, attitudes, belief systems, ideologies, cultural and religious narratives, codes of practices, etc), which have pretty much been taught to us since birth. As life goes on we may modify some of our beliefs and attitudes but that also comes about through the influence of external sources. As you can see, our worlds are peculiar to ourselves. It is impossible to get a unified world running through us all that creates a genuine universal oneness. Jesus said, A kingdom divided against itself must fall. Makes sense. If there is no source of eternal truth out there then all the information we have to work with is suspect. And that has been our problem. The source of eternal truth is within ourselves. The same one spirit and life runs through us all. Turn within to that source, spirit and life within you. Gather your information from the inside. This is not a mental or head thing. Pay attention to what bubbles up within from your deep feelings. Some have referred to this as an inner knowing, intuition, or tacit understanding. Even those terms seem a bit too cerebral to me. When those deep feelings arise we may experience homecoming sensations. I wouldnt describe it as a religious experience. The best way to access this heavenly dimension within you is to approach it as a little child in a very natural way. Speak from these deep feelings to others in your own words.
