Most of you dont know that Seth and my, sweet Foster, has been struggling with his health for a long time (most likely from the day he was born). We still dont have all the answers. As of now Foster is only able to have an Elemental Formula (Hypoallergenic Amino Acid-Based Medical Food) and water. We are currently testing one plain food at a time for several days to see what he reacts to. So far, he has had an allergic reaction to everything he has eaten. Because of a very special Feeding Therapist at Vandy Childrens Hospital (30 years in Speech and Feeding Therapy) I have started a blog that will launch this Friday, August 1st. Even though Fosters issues are very rare, they are becoming more common, sadly. And these precious children that share Fosters symptoms have no real answers or resolutions to their suffering. Its heartbreaking. I say all this just to let you all know that if you have a friend with a child or you yourself have been struggling with your childs health, please take a moment to read/share this blog. It could save someone hundreds of hours of research and if nothing else, encourage them on their journey with their precious little one. Youd never be able to tell by the pictures we post, but every day Foster struggles to eat without gagging, vomiting (over and over), choking, etc...refusing to eat most of the time...and never sleeping well. Ive not brought it up on Facebook because I dont have the time to go over the details with everyone. We are only sharing this now because the blog is pretty much ready to go for Friday, and we are happy to know that we already have some friends and even strangers to us that will be helped by our sharing Fosters story. ;) This little boy is just incredible! Such a beautiful bright light in the midst of the craziness. Fosters favorite movie is The Sound of Music (appropriately). ;) Just the other day I walked in and caught him with these sweet praying hands. Ive never seen him do that before. If theres anything he could ask for, it would be prayer. xoxo
