Most of you know that I am anxiously waiting for the editor to send back STOLEN so I can upload it and put it out there for sale. In the meantime I have sent it out to a few select reviewers just to get some sort of feedback. Well so far I have been pleasantly surprised. Here is the first actual written review I have gotten back. Stolen is the third book by the fantastic crime author Dawn Kopman Whidden who just knows how to draw you into the story & makes you live every minute by telling the story through the eyes of the main characters. Just like her fist two novels A child is Torn: Innocence Lost & Faceless The author has excelled herself by making Stolen even more exciting & thrilling, sometimes by the time you get to book three you can tell where the author is going with a story as they have a set format in the way they write but not Dawn you can in no way guess in anyway how it is going to turn out. Stolen starts with one dead body, one injured body & two small children one found running scared in the woods the other is found in a cabin. It soon becomes clear that there is a lot more to this case than the dead & injured bodies. The one witness they have is the little boy Tristan who it seems is mute, this little lad becomes the central character that bring it all together. This case is full of twists and turns that you just don’t expect but adds to the suspense & is the reason you are drawn in so deep to this book that you just can’t put it down. Once again the author has brought in family & friends of the main characters so that you feel you know them and how their lives all intertwine with the case and adds to the emotion of the story, I found myself crying in the beginning & then crying at the end but for totally different reasons. I love a good crime thriller where you can get involved with the story but not in a way that you work it out what the storyline is too soon. This is definitely a book that fits the bill. I would recommend this book to both old & new crime thriller readers & tell them to be prepared to invest in the first two novels & any future novels the author publishes as they are very addictive. Although these books have the same characters they are also stand alone as you in no way need to have read the others to be able to follow this book. I hardest thing I have found about Stolen is reviewing it as I couldn’t work out how to say all I wanted without giving the whole story away.
