Most of you may not know this but, on May 10th Justin and I will be biking (yes, on bicycles) from Franklin, Ohio to Salvation Mountain near Niland, California Salvation Mountain is an art installation covering a hill in the Colorado Desert, north of Calipatria near Slab City, and several miles from the Salton Sea. The art work is made from adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of paint. Salvation Mountain was created by Leonard Knight (1931–2014).It encompasses numerous murals and areas painted with Christian sayings and Bible verses. If anyone has ever watched the movie Into The Wild there is a scene where Alex Supertramp (Chris McCandless) visits the site. My brother and I have planned this out and are prepared and ready to make this life changing journey. Its roughly 6,000 total miles there and back. We will not be staying in any hotels, just camping and also having to bathe in creeks along the way lol we have gotten every reaction possible so your reaction wont be a suprise lol. We have all the maps, provided by the Adventure Cycling Association. We will keep everyone updated throughout our trip and be posting pictures. We will be going through the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and to our destination CALIFORNIA.
