Most of you that know me know that I am retiring soon. I had planned to simply ride off into the sunset and quietly leave law enforcement. But I cant. Again, those of you that know me, know that I tend to speak my mind. Recent events force me to say something, so here goes. First of all, I dont agree with blue flu or any kind of organized protest by law enforcement, or any other such a thing that may needlessly endanger the public. BUT let me lay out a scenario that I do agree with. Recently, two LAPD police officers were called to a reportedly fake call and were ambushed by armed thugs. If my brothers and sisters in blue start to hesitate to respond to calls, in an effort to make sure they and their peers are safe, while they wait for back up, or wait to confirm their safety before entering a scene, that I do agree with, whole heartedly. Thats where this may be going Mr and Mrs America. We, as LE officers cannot stop this on our own, we can only change how we do things to better protect ourselves. You have to vote some politicians out and vote some others in AND you have to stand up and speak up. We will give our lives and risk our well being to protect you, but we are not going to needlessly throw ourselves on the sword and allow our blood to be spilled in vain. You must to be a part of the solution, and convince us of your support and show us that you are not acquiescent to evil. I want you to know that if you do that, you can count on me, if you dont, I will take care of my family and I wish you the best in taking care of yours.
