Most of you will not be familiar with Thimble. Thimble was rescued by Greyhound Gap at just 12 weeks old. Part of a litter that had been severly abused and VERY emotionally damaged even by that tender age. Sadly Thimble was the runt of the litter and a very fiesty little female and had tried her best to keep the other pups safe. Out of them all she was and still remains the most damaged. Even now people can not come into my house without Thimble being muzzled as she still poses a bite risk after 6 years hard work but is still the most sweet natured, happy loving dog here at home. One thing that Thimble would have made though had it not been for her slightly psychotic tendancies was a good Mother and she has always taken the visiting pups under her wing and is the exact reason why Enzo my 4 year old patterdale x lad is so overly indulged and a menace as she still Mothers him now. Thimble has now taken it upon herself to guard the pups with her life. This should make for an interesting time! Not only is she sitting telling them off if they cry or mess about in the crate but she is growling at my others if they currently get to close! The other pups were lucky enough to find fabulous understanding homes who still to this day have to deal with their idiosyncracies and scared behaviour and I will be forever in debt to those families who took them on. It was decided that due to the vast amount of behaviour issues with Thimble she would stay here permanantly with myself as a Gap long termer. We still all know for sure had she gone off to another home and not been handled properly things for her would not have ended well.
