Most people are unaware of how toxic the over-the-counter (OTC) ingredient acetaminophen can be. Every year, about 150 accidental deaths are due to toxic overdoses to acetaminophen in the US; along with countless liver injuries. There are over 600 OTC products with some acetaminophen and most people are unaware of the dangers when exceeding the daily dose. This information should be passed along to anyone using these OTC products for pain relief or reducing fever. [As an import aside; think of what FDA would do to a natural remedy (like an herb), if 150 individuals died consuming it every year and hundreds more reported liver failure- needing transplants....., would it still be available for purchase?]
