Most people cannot really feel their spines much less move them at will. Perhaps then, in the first instance, wed be better off not thinking about moving our spines at all, but think instead about whats preventing such movement. The tendons, ligaments and muscles that surround the spine and are connected to it often stop the spine from moving freely. If they could, metaphorically, slide over one another like moist worms in a bucket might then the spine be able to loosen up?.... What you dont want is these tendons, ligaments and muscles to continue to behave as if they were a cold bowl of congealed spaghetti; a solid block of stuff, rather than a bunch of moving parts. Through working with the mass of stuff that surrounds the spine (remember, all the bones in the human body make up only 12-15% of the bodys mass), we may succeed in creating the conditions the spine needs if its to begin to be able to move in a more gratifying, relaxing and efficient way.
