Most products you buy and enjoy today are manufactured in China, where the average wage for a factory worker is $1.36/hr, compared with $23.32 here in the US and $25.80 in Germany, or between 5% and 6% of the wages in those western countries. Likelihood of being killed on the job in China is more than three times higher than for the same or equivalent job in the US or Germany (0.0096% for China vs 0.0027% and 0.00187% for the US and Germany respectively). And all this despite the fact that the cost of living in China is still over 60% that of the US and Germany, meaning that even with the lower cost of living the Chinese workers are still living on the equivalent of 10 cents on the dollar compared to their American and German counterparts. Now, tell me again how you oppose slavery...
