Mother in law of tbi survivor is seeking advice: I am the mother - TopicsExpress

Mother in law of tbi survivor is seeking advice: I am the mother in law of a 32 year old TBI son in law. His accident ocurred on August 14th of 2012. He and my daughter were expecting their first child in November. They were living with us when the accident occurred. My part in this has been to fight for him to get the therapies and money and care that he needs. I am appalled at the lack of information out there for TBI patients and families. We live in PA and I have taken on the task of trying to establish a "clearing house" for caretakers of TBI patients. I have had to do hours of research, talk to doctors, nurses, therapists, congressmen, you name it to find care for my son in law! I would love any ideas or thoughts on tackling this problem. Patients and caretakers should not have to "learn" the system to be able to get the help and care they need. ~Tracey
