Mothers Day has always been a hard day for me. I didnt go to - TopicsExpress

Mothers Day has always been a hard day for me. I didnt go to church today because for 30+ years Ive sat through Mothers Day sermons that instead of honouring and building up Moms, lays a guilt trip on them -- always spoken by a man (I mean, how would he know the pain and challenges of being a woman?) Women who have wanted to be a mom for decades but instead suffered loss after loss, are sidelined. Strong women who are holding their families together in the face of insurmountable odds are told they need to do more -- submit more, pray more, read their bible more, serve in church more. Those whose Moms werent Moms, are told to suck it up and fake it till you make it. The way I see it you can choose to be a breath of fresh air or a wind bag.
