MotoMushi Mountains The MotoMushi Mountains lie to the southwest of White Plains and west of the Swamps. This mountain range is home to bandits and miscreants. Travel through the area is ill advised without armed escort. Still, it is the only way to reach Cormick from Nicholshire and most points west without going weeks out of your way. The mountains were once apparently a stronghold for some Faction or other group. Rumors persist of an empire before the Kingdom of Praelia stemming from the mountains. Certainly there are seemingly abandoned outposts and ruins all along the mountains, however the stories of an empire are as yet unsubstantiated. Most consider them old wives tales. Still, the stories of the Divine Wind coming down the mountain have been referenced in older texts discovered in Roses and Cormick. Sear Sea North of Darkwald lies the source of the Prahova river, the Sear Sea. This large inland sea is close to the northernmost border of Praelia. Beyond lies only the frozen tundra wherein small amounts of colonies have settled. The sea itself is treacherous to travel; pirates abound from the multiple small islands in the area. Fishing communities exist all along the shores. One of the islands in the middle of the sea is quite strange indeed, for it has no inhabitants except for a series of statues surrounding a ruined temple. The statues, strangely enough, are of men and women from various time periods. All of the statues are posed in horrific stances as if they had seen something truly terrible. This of course leads people to believe there is a curse on that island and no ferryman will go within a mile of the place.
