Mourinho proposes a toast! Chelsea boss hopes club have reason to celebrate at the end of the season as good form continues Having celebrated his 51st birthday on Sunday, Jose Mourinho bought champagne for all of the assembled media on Tuesday and hopes to have an excuse for another reason to celebrate at the end of the season. Following Chelseas impressive FA Cup victory over Stoke on Sunday, Mourinho believes his team will keep on getting better as the campaign goes on. Speaking on Tuesday, the Chelsea manager said: We have to drink champagne because we are improving a lot. Hopefully we can drink champagne again in the future. The last game against Stoke was a good 1-0 win. The team is playing well. The results are a consequence of the team playing well. Looking ahead to Wednesdays home clash with West Ham, the Chelsea boss said: Every match is difficult. I look at West Ham and think it will be a difficult match. They dont have a dozen injured players, they have new players. Our title opponents will feel the same with their opponents. Its difficult for everyone. Having won their last seven league games, Chelsea currently sit third in the table, two points behind leaders Arsenal. Mourinho hopes the club can continue their good form and believes his team will be even stronger next season. We have to keep our good form and let things happen naturally. The best way to do that is to be competing for things. Evolution comes when you have serious competition. We need to be towards the top of the league. Next season we will have a very strong team. I can imagine from day one with a squad with more belief and stronger. But this season we are in the competitions. Meanwhile, Samuel Etoo may leave Stamford Bridge this summer. Having signed the Cameroon striker at the start of the season, Mourinho admits Etoo, who has scored four goals in 12 league appearances, may well move on when his current deal one-year deal runs out. Its not the same situation with Frank Lampard or John Terry because there is not the history. But he is comfortable and we are very comfortable with him. said Mourinho when asked about Etoos future. He is the kind of guy who feels free to make decisions for himself. We will see what he wants to do at the end of the season. Maybe he will go back to Mallorca, or stay here, or go to Inter. But we will not rule it out, of course not. Mourinho insists he is happy with how the current transfer window has gone. While Juan Mata has left for Manchester United in a £37m deal, the Blues bolstered their ranks with the signings of Mohamed Salah from Basle and Nemanja Matic from Benfica. What my club did Im happy with, siad the Portuguese boss. Kevin de Bruyne was expected and a very good deal. Juan was unexpected, we signed Salah but he is 21 and needs time. We needed someone like Matic for our balance. Without spending more than we got, we changed players and our squad is more balanced. We are fine. We believe that is it for the transfer window for us unless some extraordinary deals come for one of our players comes and we have to react. New boy Salah isnt eligible to face West Ham while Fernando Torres remains sidelined with a knee injury.
