Move Review: Hotel Rwanda For those that dont know, Hotel Rwanda explores the experiences of people stuck between wannbe political heavyweights and a raging civil war in Africa. What makes this film so poignant is its basis in reality. Over one million people were murdered in a planned genocide by the leaders. The movie brings these experiences home for all of us lucky enough to not be there during this time. The movie is well acted and scripted and very easy to get caught up in. Although not completely autobiographical, it is close enough to make us all appreciate the subtleties of our lives, the people we have in them, the sacrifices they make for us and how transient our existence can become in a matter of minutes. Rating: SOMETIMES GETTING SLAPPED AWAKE IS A GOOD THING!
