Move to announce Amnesty for illegal residents in kuwait. The Ministry of Interior is currently studying the possibility of giving expatriates, who have violated the Residency Law, a chance to rectify their status, reports Arab Times daily. Arab times quoting source reported that the government will most likely waive payment of fines on the condition that the concerned expatriates will leave the country and their names will not be included on the blacklist. He said the plan might be implemented in February or June, at the latest. According to daily, over 80,000 expatriates are living illegally in the country in spite of the consistent campaigns carried out by security officers to track down those who violated the Residency Law. Similar action taken in the past was successful as it greatly contributed to efforts to trim down the number of illegal residents, added daily.
