Mr. Moyo outlined the party programs and agenda beyond the Congress including economic stabilization, job growth, health and social services. He lamented those who necessitated the convening of this early congress as pseudo constitutionalists who had themselves chosen to circumvent the very constitution they purported to uphold. The MDC-T National Chairman outlined the various party programs the future MDC government will implement including restoring the country as a member of the rest of the civilized nations in which business, local and foreign will be guaranteed the safety of their investments. He characterized the country as in an incessant state of comatose, one only an MDC government, with the full mandate of the people will be able to implement and not a Zanu Pf kleptocracy that has presided over the impoverishment of a once prosperous country to a basket case that it has become. In his acceptance speech, the MDC-USA Chairman Mr. Den Moyo called on the newly elected executive to make it their mission to work for the party in an impartial and inclusive way so that those Zimbabweans who have lost all hope for a more transparent, prosperous and enduring country to see the value of joining others in order to make positive change in Zimbabwe. The National Leadership nomination process was an especially intense moment as with executive members going through each nominee scorecard, evaluating party history and commitment to serve both the party and country. At the end of the process members agreed that only the MDC under the leadership of Dr Richard Morgan Tsvangirai help the best hope and aspirations for the people of Zimbabwe. END.
