Moving deeper into my review of the Golden Decade of Music - TopicsExpress

Moving deeper into my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, where I am selecting the artists alphabetically and playing selections of their songs I liked or found influential from that Golden Decade. I am now moving into the D’s and will play a few from Neil Diamond, an American singer-songwriter with a career that began in the 1960s. Diamond has sold over 125 million records worldwide, making him one of the worlds best-selling artists of all time. Neil Diamond has had 10 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. The first song of his I am selecting is Solitary Man a 1966 hit song written, composed, and originally recorded and released by Neil Diamond, a song since covered many times by a myriad of artists. Initially released on Bang Records in April 1966, Solitary Man was Diamonds debut single as a recording artist having already had moderate success as a songwriter for other artists. July, the track had become a minor hit rising to #55 on the U.S. pop singles chart. It would then be included on Diamonds first album, The Feel of Neil Diamond, released in August 1966. https://youtube/watch?v=Ql4IiP__5ck
