Moving to Seattle, Day 1: I tried to check in. FB cant locate me. Figures. Just outside of Boerne, Bill ran over something metal in the road. A flat tire, a bent rim and a couple of hours later, we left Kerrville -$400 and + four new rims. Except it turned out Discount Tire forgot to fill and balance the tires. Hence, another stop in Junction to diagnose the problem. On 83 (yes, dangerously close to San Angelo) we encountered a Texas thunderstorm studded with hail that looked like we were entering Armageddon. Pulled off in Ballinger where I realized the county road we were supposed to take next was flooded over. Change of plans took us through Abilene and now finally we are finally back on our originally planned route. Oh, and my right ankle is the size of a tennis ball and fiercely red, courtesy of some Tejano varmint determined to have one last piece of me before I vacate the state. Hoping the topical and ingested Benadryl will relieve the pain and pressure overnight. Bright spot: dog-friendly hotel for only $69 a night. With breakfast. And free internet.
