Mr. Burris apparently has never looked at a budget for remodeling an old building versus building a new one. It costs typically 2 to 4 times more to remodel, and the end result is still a building that rarely entirely fits the current purpose. Further, since there are far fewer children and they live far more spread out, it is inevitable that schools can not be in every neighborhood. In the future, there will be fewer school buildings yet as more and more students get a bigger portion of their education online.
