Mr. Glyndon Shane Waas, age 44, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his home. Born in Jacksonville, he had been a lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach until recently moving to Jacksonville. Shane was a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School and obtained a degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Community College at Jacksonville. He had been an Officer with the Fernandina Beach Police Department from the age of 19 until his mid 30s. He enjoyed body building, fishing and gardening. Shane leaves behind, his children, Glyndon Shane “Bo” Waas Jr. and Kaylee Jean Waas, his father, Ted Waas and his wife, Mary Lou, his mother, Laura W. Morris-Lytwyn, his sister, Wendy Waas, his former wife, Debbie Miles, several cousins, nieces and nephews, all of Fernandina Beach, FL. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the mountains of North Carolina. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
