Love has potential and strength. Current kills. Hate kills Resistance lessens current. Sadness lessens anger. The greater the current the lesser is the resistance to balance love. The greater the hate the lesser is the sadness to balance love. The greater resistance gives the lesser the current to balance love. The greater sadness gives the lesser the hate to balance love. Other Equations Primary emotions are mad sad glad just like pigment colors have primary colors and light has primary colors. So an equation for pigment color will go something like Yellow = Magenta times Cyan, and an equation for light color like Green = Red times Blue. The primary emotions came to me from an unknown telepath. The Thornton’s Law and the pigment and light color equations are mine. By Rodney Carlyle Thornton in October 2013 From Overcoming to Fixing Dyslexia (and other brain disorders, like autism) By Rodney Carlyle Thornton The disability of dyslexia is commonly believed be the result of identifiable structures in the brain’s cerebellum. This disability of the brain is believed to be a neurological problem of the language center. Teachers are usually the first to recognize symptoms of errors in misspelled words, unable to read, poor penmanship, and difficulty in learning. This disability fails to recognize and correctly apply letters and symbols to reading, mathematics, penmanship, composing, and skew the organization of information in a story. A study asserts that damage of the inner ear is responsible for dyslexia. I assert that protecting the inner ear in pregnancy might prevent dyslexic structures from developing in the cerebellum of the baby. Testing has found that a damaged inner ear is present when dyslexia is present. The damaged brain structure is also believed to be genetic and unrelated to inner ear structural and frequency dysfunction. I intend to conclude that a damaged inner ear distorts the organization of the brain much as an over driven microphone distorts the sound form an amplifier. My theory is that excessive sound can damage the inner ear is as much as an over driven amplifier damages a speaker. My theory also is that the sound coming through the inner ear is used to establish the brain structures that store and recognize characters, govern organization, and govern fine motor movements. Brain structure suffers like an amplifier. Excessive sound through the microphone transduced to signal current can damage an amplifier especially the amplifier speaker. A damaged inner ear may be the cause of confusion the same as speaking to loud into a microphone causing distortion in any sound system. Identifying the inner ear as the principle organ involved in creating the file system of structures of the cerebellum and placing information in those files may lead to better procedures to protect the inner ear of the fetus from a sonogram damage (a sonogram: a sound produced picture instead of an x-ray picture). Overcoming sonic damage involve recognizing language errors to the future practice of inserting cloned cells into the brain to replace the damaged cell structure thus fixing dyslexia. The academic manifestation of dyslexia begins during childhood as errors in English and Mathematics. Not everyone has a diagnosable level of dyslexia. Spafford and George Grosser in their book, Research and Resource Guide, state that: “dyslexia is an elusive reading disorder for many that afflicts p to 5% of our population” (23). Another contributing factor to dyslexia is poor sound discrimination. George and Spache Grosser write that, “in low-tone losses, vowel sounds are not heard clearly, nor are the consonants m, g, b, h, and their blends” (50). The confused sounds of consonants cause mispronunciation. Spelling by sounding out the letters of a word is difficult. People with dyslexia must take other learning avenues. Dyslexics are forced into intuitive thinking and thinking outside the box to develop English skills. Students with dyslexia have trouble assembling a story. The confusion from dyslexic structures and information may cause inability in students to organize and frame papers in college. Students must overcome writing errors with repeated experience writing papers. This defines dyslexia in English. Overcoming dyslexia takes practice. More symptoms of dyslexia in English appear in writing skills. Detection may happen immediately or over time. A child may draw letters backwards or spell their name backwards. Poor reading skills cause children to fall behind in grade or exhibit academic behaviors below an average intelligence level for their grade. Dyslexia may manifest in just English, just Math, or both. Dyslexia in math is called dyscalculia. The same kinds of dysfunctions in English occur in math characters and symbols. Performance is another way to detect dyslexia. The student fails to keep good grades and continually falling behind class studies. Intelligence is suspected to be low according to the student’s expression on paper. The student’s comprehension may actually be normal or high. The expertise to recognize symbols is more necessary in math. Gorge and Spache Grosser write that “[dyslexia] develops gradually over time and is manifest by continued poor performances or decreasing scores consistently below those of his [or her] peers”. This retardation of achievement will continue id dyslexia is left untreated (7). Even so, overcoming dyslexia can take all though school or even become a life time of disability. Extra remedial skills can diminish dyslexia if practiced from early childhood. Performance can be aided by hand held calculators, spell checkers, and digital personal assistance devises, PDA’s. Training the student to overcome the errors of dyslexia may be aided by possible cures. Faulty Inner Ear vs. the Faulty Cerebellum At present there is no cure for dyslexia. Doctors currently believe that structures in the brain’s cerebellum cause of dyslexic learning disorders. Proof is found by methods of imaging the brain. To quote the book, Dyslexia at College, Lix Du Pre el al names the types of imaging used to find the different structure in the cerebellum and the nerves transmitting sensory data to the cerebellum. “Thanks to modern technology in general, and to the techniques of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and event-related potential (ERP) studies in particular, knowledge is advancing at a fast rate” (6). Such studies reveal to doctors new possibilities that dyslexia presents without the presence of damage to the cerebellum. Dr. Carter and Gold also hold to the view that cerebellum structure is a source of dyslexia. However Dr. Levinson finds inner ear damage present at the same time. Dr. Levinson’s blind studies of inner ear dysfunction were done at several medical institutions. He writes, “on ‘bind” examinations, these clinicians…found that 96% of the dyslexics had CV [nerve transmission dysfunction] signs…” (Levinson). Although neurologist may hold the view that the cause of the faulty is from a genetic defect and not from the input to the cerebellum, other neurologists treating the brain’s cerebellum confirm that the inner ear likewise confirm inner ear dysfunction present. Dr. Levinson further reports in a “Blind” Electronystagmography (ENG) Exam that: …a subsample of dyslexics were also sent “blindly” to outstanding inner-ear experts (neurologists) in leading New York City hospital centers for specialized inner-ear testing. As noted in Figs. 1 and 2c, “A Scientific Watergate-Dyslexia”, over 90% of referred dyslexics were found to have positive evidence of an inner-ear dysfunction on ENG- a test initially designed by Nobel Laureate, Sir Robert Barany. Dr. Levinson presets the sides included in the appendix on the website of his medical center as evidence that the inner-ear is a cause of dyslexia affection learning skills. Another way the inner-ear affects learning is through guiding the hand eye coordination. The ears aid in guiding our eyes in the placement in space and direction. Dr. Harold Levinson reports that “the ears also aid in guiding our motor functions in writing. [the ears enable] us to write in an orderly graph/style as not to flip or reverse letters or take parts of words and guess the rest of the word” (23,23). The brain folds as memory or learning takes place. The neurons and synaptic connections of the brain remember and organize information from the ear. The ears transduce information from sound. The brain first experience with information is with sound. Vision, tough, fell, and thinking, come later. The ear must be one of the first organs for the brain uses to recognize information. Other forms of information like visual input to the brain may have their specialized file systems. Being blinded by too much light is like going deaf from too much sound. Too much sound can cause distortion, blow the speaker, even blow the amplifier. Does the inner-ear aid in the brain formatting itself for files as well as transduce information? Does the inner-ear also set up the file systems for all information? Judging from Dr. Levinson’s findings brain and inner-ear damaged structures are both evident in dyslexia. Does the brain use sound to format all file systems where the different types of senses are stored. Inner-ears seem to only select language and math skills not visual, touch, fell sensations, and not intellectual and emotional decisions. So, can there be a language or calculation double whammy, which a damaged inner-ear damages the filing cells as will and the information sent to them? Thus detection of cell structures, neuron structures, is dyslexia. Genetic code can also be part of the damaged cell structure believed. The new discovery is the role that the inner-ear plays in dyslexia. Even good information is damaged when put in damage cells, or file section, Cause of Damage Damage to the ear drum can add layers of disability to dyslexia. Loud sound causes ringing in the ears, degrees of deafness, confusion, and disorientation. Concussion grenades, bombs, IED’s, artillery, but no proof of sonogram causing deafness, so what frequencies affect the inner-ear? Loud and close audio affects hearing. Driving the ear drum in turn drives inner-ear. Loud sound drives a microphone drive the amplifier that drives the speaker. Too much input causes damage to the information and the information carrier and the destination of the information. The ear drum and microphone may serve everything after is at risk. Neurons, synaptic connections, nerves, the inner-ear, and the ear drum are all in a chain of accurate hearing and language skills. Repeated practice of writing skills retrains the brain like gaining the use of muscles again by the repetition physical therapy. Physical Therapy for the Brain Overcoming dyslexia is a long process of training new brain structures, synapses connections, and new folds of memory to overcome dyslexic structures. A baby once born adds sight to the brain’s file system. A file system first learned as a sound file system. As Microsoft word is a file system that the other Microsoft file systems grew. The evidence is that the language file system once damaged does not spread to the other memory systems of vision, pressure, feel, smell, and taste. Fortunately, retraining the language center is not the need to retrain all the other sensory centers. The solution to overcome misinterpretations of sound information is repetitive practice just like in physical therapy. Physical therapy for strength and control is gained by building muscle tissue, training the brain to reorganize muscle control, coordination by repetition, and pushing through the pain of atrophied muscle tissue. When the damage is brain tissue, physical therapy becomes repeated and practiced reading, writing, math skill if necessary, and intuitively finding new ways to check for errors. Physically Fixing the Brain Recovery may be furthered by future technology to physically fix the faulty hearing and cellular processing of language and mathematics by inserting cloned inner-ears, nerves, and neurons. This presents hope for physically fixing dyslexia. It would be like inserting room for fresh files for a computer to write the correct instructions, which are some cases like a copy and paste process. New tissue injected to replace cells having dysfunction may fix dyslexia, no longer forcing people with dyslexia to learn how to rain corrupted brain cells influenced by ear damaged. Someday new inner ears may mature from samples of the original tissue and surgically replace the dysfunctional inner-ear or ear drum. Finding ways to fix the dyslexic structures in the brain have yet to be applied to produce better learning skills. Neurologists treating the inner-ear, who are convinced of inner-ear dysfunction is present with dyslexic structure. May also become convinced that sound is used to build brain structure where sound information is stored. Whether the brain or the inner-ear is blamed for the confusion, people with dyslexia still have to overcome the learning disability of dyslexia by taking longer to learn and do their homework. He or she will have to exceed normal skills of producing papers, practicing English and Math skills repeatedly to teach the brain until the confusion is overcome. Preventing damage to the sound system of the ear would save people from suffering dyslexia. After the damage occurs, fixing the inner-ear is a start to fix it all. Works Cited Du Pre`, Liz, et al.
