Mr. Tweedy The world has changed Mr. Tweedy It was such a lovely day To gaze at skies that once were new But now are old and gray Funny how the calendar page Holds us in between The shiny bright psychosis And the roar of the machine And I remember you..... The world was cruel Mr. Tweedy Back in 1953 They locked you in that attic room But forgot to hide the key Funny how the sunlight fell On irises you grew A tiny, broken window ledge Was all you ever knew And I remember you.... In the house of morbid fantasy The house of true disguise Watch out for the hidden trap doors For within them hide your lies no no no no NO NO NO NO NO NO NO..... I found your grave Mr. Tweedy Neath a stunted willow tree On a hill above the riverside Near a rusted metal key Funny how the calendar page Held you in between The shiny bright psychosis And the roar of the machine And I remember you.. (In loving memory of Ralph Douglas Tweedy)
