Mrs. E Jacobs spoke of the New York Jewish underground being furious that this huge airship with a swastika on its tail should be allowed into the US, she went on, after Germany had expelled the Jews, technology seemed to bound ahead in every field, medicine, banking, defense, transport etc. and the airship was threatening to make aircraft obsolete, this and the fact that the airship would be seen bringing visitors to the London coronation with a large swastika symbol on the airship was just too much, she said it was a very small team of Jewish saboteurs.......who put in place the explosion. Max Pruss was in command of Hindenburg and he survived the crash but suffered very serious burns on much of his body, including his face, and remained in a New York hospital for many months. Despite numerous operations to repair the burn damage he had suffered, Pruss remained badly scarred for the rest of his life. Pruss believed to his dying day the Hindenburg disaster was the result of foreign sabotage.
