Mt Longonot 2nd Edition Itinerary on 8th Feb 2014 Depart from Kencom, opposite Bata Shop our meeting point at 6:30 am for Mt Longonot hike day trip, one hours’ drive through Naivasha –Nakuru highway via Mai Mahiu with a brief stopover at Great Rift Valley View point then we proceed down the escarpment, which is the Eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley, and head towards Mt. Longonot. The hiking will start from the Main gate which will take us approximately 2 hours to the highest peak which is 2777 meters above the sea level. Then we will have our lunch for about an hour of relaxing then proceed to discovering the crater rim which will take us about 3 hours to go round it. Having conquered the mighty Longonot, we will start our journey down the mountain which could take approximately 1 and half hours. We start our journey back at 4:30 pm to Nairobi. Included: Transport to and fro entry fees 1 litre bottle of water and glucose. Required: You and your packed lunch. Don’t forget to bring: -Identity Card/ Passport.
