Much as we like this old house (built in 1892) and see the potential in it, love the yard and pond, really like most of our neighbors, and are accustomed to the area, its really getting to be far too much in the way of upkeep. Between Johns COPD and heart issues, and my ankle brace, the stairs are becoming an issue. The heating costs are astronomical (truly dreading the possibility of another polar vortex this winter) and we really only use about half the space we have here anyway. Soooooo....would you believe were actually considering over 55, manufactured home communities? Much as I dislike HOA rules and regulations (and would only consider something in an extremely well kept community), the idea of basic landscaping and snow removal, the convenience of access to a pool, gym, walking trails, etc, is holding more and more appeal. And modular/manufactured homes are affordable enough (and the newer ones energy efficient enough) that I may even get away with working less, and taking the occasional vacation. At any rate, Im wondering if any of my FB friends have any experience with these communities (good or bad) and would care to share? Inquiring minds, and all that. ;)
