Hes in a VA hospital in Phoenix, unable to be who he really is, the war stripped me of my father, cherish what he and every other veteran and veterans family lost so that we can be free. In 1990 he gave me the best advice he ever gave me. When the first gulf war was imminent I asked him if he and my grandfathers expected me to join up like they did, he said, we joined up so you could choose not to. Thanks Dad, and thanks all veterans for today and everyday.
