Mull this over a bit. Democratic Party Working For The IRS? Concrete evidence against House Oversight Committee top democrat, Elijah Cummings, puts him in the middle of the IRS Targeting Scandal for targeting conservative group, True the Vote. The significance of these allegations lies in the fact that Cummings is the top democrat on the committee that is supposed to be investigating the IRS for targeting conservative groups. Cummings was trying to close this investigation of the IRS soon after it was opened and now we know why. About 5 days after Cummings office showed interest in True the Vote, the group received a wave of harassment from the IRS. There was even communication between Cummings office and Lois Lerner about True the Vote. Lerner was just found in Contempt of Congress for withholding information from Congress over this IRS Targeting Scandal. This kind of targeting, discrimination, and overall despicable behavior must be punished to the highest degree. We must flood the House Oversight Committee with faxes demanding for the resignation of Representative Elijah Cummings. He knew what he was doing and now he must pay the consequences. The House Oversight Committee Chairman, Darrell Issa, will not tolerate this behavior from Cummings and will soon get to the bottom of it. He has been investigating these allegations and is threatening Cummings with Contempt of Congress unless he starts talking. In a letter to Cummings, Issa writes: Although you have previously denied that your staff made inquiries to the IRS about conservative organization True the Vote that may have led to additional agency scrutiny, communication records between your staff and IRS officials - which you did not disclose to Majority Members or staff - indicates otherwise...you have an obligation to fully explain your staffs undisclosed contacts with the IRS, Founder of True the Vote, Catherine Engelbrecht, also had some very strong words for Cummings, the IRS, and all of America: Partisan politics and the weaponization of government against opponents of this administration is real and continues. Elijah Cummings has blocked the IRS abuse investigation all along. We now see clearly that two branches of government have colluded to target and silence private citizens. No more lies. No more cover-ups. No more collusion. Enough is enough. Finally, we have a chance for the rule of law to be re-established, thanks to the bold efforts of Chairman Issa and Rep. Jordan. We filed an ethics complaint against Rep. Cummings in February. Today were amending that filing to include this latest revelation. As I have said in my testimony before Congress; I will not retreat, I will not surrender, I will not be intimidated. I will not ask Rep. Cummings, Lois Lerner, Barack Obama, or anyone else, for permission to exercise my constitutional rights. Issas investigation also found that the IRS improperly shared private information with Cummings office. There was also communication between Cummings staff and the IRS discussing what sort of information they were interested in from True the Vote. Cummings was first suspected and approached for his involvement in this scandal in February of this year. His response was adamant that the allegations were absolutely incorrect and untrue. Cummings is now steering clear of answering any questions concerning his involvement in this IRS Targeting Scandal. Now that there is concrete evidence against Cummings he is still refusing to answer any questions. He denied a request to appear on Fox News to clear up the situation yet appeared on Face the Nation just days later. Face the Nation asked exactly 0 questions about the IRS Targeting Scandal after Cummings name had been associated with the scandal all week. It shows just how serious the liberal media bias is in our country. Americans never truly know what is going on in our own Government.
