Multiple police forces gathered days in advance, outfitted with better military gear than we put on the soldiers who invaded Iraq. Plus full deployment of the National Guard, again days in advance. And yet they all stood back and allowed the riot to happen before using their force. This was not a case of poor planning. This was exactly what was planned. Along with holding off the announcement of the decision until after dark, when most people were no longer at work and free to be on the streets, this was a deliberate plan to show the world, See? We are always justified in killing black people because they all behave like this. There was no reason for any violence to be allowed to happen with that kind of military force present. Just simply blocking access to buildings would have worked. Wait, they DID do that...look and see what areas did not get damaged. Funny how their tactics were successful in keeping peace where they actually used the tactics at their disposal.
