Mum question: Im going back to work in three weeks. My 9 month old will be with his grandparents for 2 days and In nursery for 1. How can I help my little one with this transition? I keep welling up when I even think about it Pinky says: Hugs - try and take it gradually , start now with little separations . Leave him with his grandparents for short periods, building up. Also do this with nursery - take him there, stay and play so he becomes familiar with the environment and carers before you leave your baby for longer periods. Talk to them about their routines and your babys normal daily patterns, what he likes, how you settle him. See if they use music at sleep times and play that music at home. Or start playing gentle music at home and share it with them so he has a familiar transition. Im sure other mums can share how they helped their little ones make the transition.
