Mum writes... This is our lil man Makai born 10days late on 19/12/13. We didnt know I had GBS until Makai was born. Makai wasnt good when he was born and was taken off to special care. Eventually after 9 hours or so I got to meet my little bundle of joy. We still didnt know what was wrong with Makai and after two days of them doing blood cultures it came back that he had contracted GBS. He was kept in special care for 10 nights with a cannula in and several lumbar punctures. He spent his first Christmas in hospital so this year we will make it extra special for our little fighter. Wish people where more aware of GBS and how devastating it can be to so many families; we were one of the lucky ones.
