MummyPages Mums Question: Im so annoyed - one of the mums handed party invites out at the school gate and my daughter didnt get one. Firstly Im annoyed because nobody is allowed to hand out invites at or anywhere near school and secondly, its so flippin hurtful. My little one is really upset about it, and I sort of feel a bit put out too. Shes just 7 and its really hard to explain the not everyone can afford to invite the whole class theory. And anyway I do think there are ways of doing a party at home that doesnt have to cost the earth, where you can invite everyone. There are 12 girls in my daughters class (14 boys) and we always invite all the girls for an old fashioned party in our house (nothing flashy, just treats and games etc) I just dont get it. How do other mums handle the child not being invited thing? Or am I just being overly sensitive?
