Musa and his teammates departed Moscow in the wee hours of Monday for Manchester, ahead of the UCL return leg tie against City, with head coach, Leonid Slutskiy affirming that he has made the right selection in the travelling squad list released by club A statement by the club confirmed that Musa was part of the squad that flew to Manchester on Monday for the fourth match day game of Champions League 2013/14 at the Etihad. However, the odds are daunting against Musa’s club, as City can all-but clinch a place in the knockout stages for the first time by repeating their success of a fortnight ago over the Russian visitors. In that match, Sergio Aguero scored twice as City came from behind to secure a 2-1 win, but the game was overshadowed by Yaya Toures complaints of racist chanting from sections of the home support. CSKA have since been charged by UEFA and ordered to play their next home game in the competition at a partially-closed stadium and City manager, Manuel Pellegrini is keen for Tuesdays match to be a chance to move on without any further racist chanting. The fans of CSKA made an important mistake, Pellegrini told the press. I dont know why CSKA denied it at the beginning; I dont know what their reaction is now. Uefa acted and gave them the punishment it deserved. Hopefully we can leave this in the past. Hopefully it will be an example for Russian fans because they have a World Cup in their country.
