Mushroom Biriyani Recipe Ingredients: Basmati Rice - 1 cup Button mushrooms - 1 cup Onion(chopped) - 1 no Cloves(Grambu) - 3 nos Cardamom(Elakka) - 1 no Bay leaves(Karuga/Vazhana ela) - 2 Black pepper(Kurumulaku) - 4 nos Garam masala - 1 tsp Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp Cabbage(grated) - 1/2 cup Cashewnuts(chopped) - 4 nos Oil - 4 tbsp Water - 2 cups(approx) Salt - As reqd Preparation: Wash rice and soak for 1/2 hour. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, black pepper and cardamoms. Add cashewnut pieces and simmer for 1 minute. Add onions and fry till golden brown. Add mushrooms and let it cook for 5 minutes. Add rice, cabbage, garam masala and salt. Add water and cover the pan. Cook on slow flame till rice is done. Serve with Veg. Kurma, Onion Salad, Pickle and Pappad.
