Music Fest on Deewana, Pagla, Pagal. Day 1. Song No 3. Khusiyan hi Khushiyan hon, Daaman men jiske (Dulhan Wahi jo Piya Man Bhaye-1977) This song is another example of one becoming a deewana because his life is filled with happiness.. Prem (Played by Prem Krishan-son of veteran actor Prem Nath) is infatuated by Rita (Played by Shyamlee) a model brought up on western values is summoned by his grandfather on the pretext of serious illness. The grandfather hasone ambition i.e. to see his granddaughter in law before dying. So Prem asks Rita to join him but she can’t as she is stuck in a landslide in Kashmir. So Prem asks his friend played by Asrani to hire a modern girl to pose as Rita but the friend hires Kammo an illiterate flower girl instead. Everybody is impressed by Kammo and wants Prem to marry her. In the meantime Rita arrives followed by her scheming mother. Everyone in Prem’s house favours Kammo and this doesn’t go well with Rita’s mother and one day on Grandfather’s birthday she reveals the reality of Kammo . After that everybody ignores Kammo. Prem is asked to sing a song and this is the song he sings. The song penned and composed by Ravindra Jain. The song became a hit in its time. It was sung by Yesudas. In fact Yesudas was a favourite and a regular singer with Ravindra Jain in the 70s. Jain is credited for bringing K. J. Yesudas to Hindi movies, in singing in many of his movies in the 1970s and 1980s. Together they sung some memorable songs. It is said that Jain was so fascinated by the way Yesudas sang his songs that Yesudas face was the first he wanted to see if he ever received his vision. Let’s enjoy this happy Deewana song.
