Kervyn Marks on the New SBS Slammer after hearing it this week at The Liberty Theater in NYC Times Sq Being an Audiophile who is very anal in term of accurate sound reproduction, I must say that the system installed by SBS Shorty in the Liberty Theater in NYC is as REAL as it gets. I recently attended the Memorial for Frankie Knuckles and sonically it was total heaven. Robert Owens performed Tears and it truly sounded phenomenal in the theater. Excellent dynamic range was exhibited and the detail of the sound spectrum given made you feel as if they were in the actual sound engineering studio when the song was actually recorded. That for me is the true barometer of a sound system! What was also noteworthy is that because of the fact that this is a theater with 50ft plus ceilings that there are no dead spots anywhere or 0 delay issues or sound doubling up anywhere with distances of 100 Ft in 1 area to the next which is amazing in itself. He designed and installed it to fill every nook and cranny of the space in the Liberty theater from the coverage he laid out with as many speakers to play clean with plenty of headroom, you just knew from listening to his SBS Slammer this system had such more to go with a lot of weight. SBS Shorty is really the pre-eminent sound installer and it makes one wonder how much better can anyone do in regards to Sound Installation.... Answer: NO ONE! John Speranza on the newest SBS Slammer in NYC It is now 5am sat, I have been saying for years that NYC needs a club where its about the vibe and love of music and sound. This new club is gonna be a place called home for many. I spent the day with my good friend and brother in sound SBS Shorty we had a listening session tonight with the system after it was Equalized and it was flawless, not one crackle or one distortion point any where in this room with vocals so clear crisp and clean. I thought the separation in stereo was unreal, the punch from the subs was body shaking, beautiful, once this sound system is heard you do not wanna leave!
