Music in the 60s!! What a great time for music. -Doo-Wop and Rockabilly are fading, but never really went away. -The electric guitar took over as the instrument that rocked the world. Guitar heroes are born. -The King of Rock & Roll is discharged from his military duty. -The British Invasion led by four lads from Liverpool change popular music forever. - Beatniks add a guitar to their poems and folk music is born -The poet laureate shocks the world and plays an electric set and gets booed for it, folk rock has begun. -We learn a new word, psychedelic, and a new genre of music is created. -Young people are introduced to the Blues, but dont realize it. It is disguised in screaming guitars. -Super Groups are formed, disband, reformed,..... -A farm in upstate New York is the stage for the world to see how music can bring young people together for Three Days of Peace, Love, and Music. -FM radio lets us listen to the long album cuts -Surf and Hot Rod music goes from Southern California regional hits to rock the rest of the country. -An unpopular military police action fuels many war protest songs.
