Why you may ask ...because R&B is dead and black commercial music ie music made and performed by black artists for the enjoyment of a black secular crowd is terminal and in intensive care. There are fewer labels, fewer stations and fewer venues/tours dealing with black music than in the 80s and 90s. There is lesser shelf space in the remaining brick and mortar stores for black music. So as a result for most black artists sales are in the shitter and few labels are willing to dedicate capital to their revitalization. So the brother has chosen to participate in a more lucrative venture, commercial rap. Its strange that I am now in my forties with far more buying power than I had in my teens and twenties but none of these capitalist corporations have no desire to market to my demo. Guess my money dont spend? #SaveBlackMusic
